Daisies: Spring Green Petal

I tied this Petal heavily into the 3 Cheers for Animals! Journey. The concepts of caring for animals fits in perfectly with being Caring & Considerate. I relied a bit too much on the Journey this time, so the next time around with my younger daughter, I will do it a bit differently. I haven’t figured out how yet. She won’t be a K’er until 2015 so I have a bit of time.

What We Did
*Learned about how to care for our pets and keep them safe
*Learned how to keep ourselves safe around unknown pets
*Made a poster to tell others how to care for their pets/keep them safe
*Baked dog biscuits for the SPCA
*Made catnip sock toys for the SPCA
*Took biscuits/toys to the SPCA, and had a tour
*Girls gave examples of being considerate and caring to others

Other Ideas
*Have the girls do a “Secret Santa”-type gift exchange
*Make cards for a nursing home/children’s hospital/VA hospital
*Visit a nursing home/hospital to sing songs, carols, or to perform a play
*Make hygiene kits for a VA hospital/homeless shelter
*Play “guess my feelings” charades (from GSRV – they have some other good ideas as well)
*Create short skits giving examples of being C&C
*Do Birthday in a Box
*Put together stockings full of goodies for kids at a shelter (you could do this for other holidays as well)
