Lesson 3: Mercury & Venus. We did this lesson in one day (two different sittings). There really isn’t a lot of content for the individual planets, so there’s no need to give each planet its own week.
*An alternate choice for Mercury was Mercury by Steven L. Kipp.

Lesson 4: Earth/Moon & Mars. We broke this lesson up into three sections, one for each object. I did have several Mars books at the ready, but we ended up reading a magazine instead. Between it and the videos Bean watched, reading any general book on Mars would have been redundant. I did find a neat book about possible colonizing Mars (Are We Moving to Mars?), but we ended up reading only a few pages before Bean lost interest.
*We read the January 2014 volume of Ask Magazine for our Mars reading since the main topic was Mars and the Curiosity Rover.
