While this blog started out specifically to chronicle my adventures in homeschooling, I no longer homeschool my children. I do some afterschooling with them, but not enough that to warrant posting about it.

Instead, the focus is now on Girl Scouts. This is my fifth year as a leader, and my first year as the leader of two troops – Juniors for my older daughter, and Daisies for my younger daughter.

  1. I actually was wondering how to go about getting my daughters into girl scouts. We homeschool and would prefer to be apart of a group of girls that are also homeschooling, but I’m at a loss as to how to sign up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    • The first thing would be to ask around your local HS groups to see if any of the girls are in GS. The second thing would be to call/go to your local GS office and ask if there are any HS troops in the area. When I started my troop the only HS girls were my daughter and my friend’s daughter. The rest came from the public school in our town.

Depending on where you are, there might be active Frontier Girls or American Heritage Girls. It’s worth looking at them to see if they align with your values.

  2. Hello, I’m a Guider in Canada (Girl Guide leader). I just saw your post about ordering Canadian badges…Are you still in need of a Canadian to order badges for you?

  3. Thank you for creating this blog! I absolutely love the activities you have chosen. You’ve done a really great job and helped get me inspired for the remainder of our meeting year. I can’t often go to the local meetings to network with other leaders to find out what they’ve done, so this is really helpful. We just started the Brownie Quest Journey. I love that you’ve included activities from the Canadian Girl Guides as well. THANK YOU!! 🙂

  4. Would love to connect – I have a Girl Scout Blog too – Scoutleaderconnect.com – I would love to add your site to my resource link and wanted to know if you wanted to try one of my badge resources for free for review. Thanks

  5. Hi! Thanks for detailing your adventure in leading Girl Scout troops. You are a good inspiration for those of us just starting.
